Sundog Sporthorse Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) sanctuary dedicated to providing a forever home for equine athletes whose careers have ended, offering owners a responsible and compassionate surrender option. With deep experience in transitioning horses from active work to retirement, we focus on helping each horse settle into a life of comfort and peace.

Sporthorses are powerful, intelligent, and highly trained athletes. Many stand well over 17 hands, require significant nutritional support, and have spent years developing strong personalities shaped by focused performance careers. When retirement comes, these very qualities can make it difficult to secure appropriate long-term placement.

This is where Sundog Sporthorse Sanctuary comes in. Our mission is to ensure that these remarkable athletes are not overlooked, but instead are given the stability, dignity, and lifelong support they deserve in their well-earned second act.
